Manufacturing Technician II

Position Summary
Bioresource Technology, Inc. (BRT), a Medix Biochemica company located in Weston, Florida, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician II to support daily manufacturing and production operations within a regulated life sciences environment. This role is responsible for performing manufacturing activities, supporting equipment setup and operation, maintaining accurate production documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
The Manufacturing Technician II serves as an experienced technician capable of working independently on routine manufacturing processes while assisting with troubleshooting, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Perform manufacturing, processing, and production activities according to approved procedures, batch records, and work instructions
· Prepare materials, reagents, buffers, and equipment for manufacturing activities
· Operate, clean, sanitize, and maintain manufacturing equipment and work areas
· Accurately complete inventory documentation, and quality documentation in compliance with GMP/ISO requirements.
· Document manufacturing activities contemporaneously, accurately, and in accordance with GMP/ISO requirements.
· Promptly escalate deviations, atypical observations, equipment concerns, or documentation discrepancies to supervisor.
· Assist with troubleshooting operational and process-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
· Support inventory handling, labeling, storage, and cycle counts
· Participate in equipment calibration, preventative maintenance coordination, and process verification activities
· Follow all applicable safety, environmental, and quality procedures and requirements
· Support internal audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
· Train and assist Manufacturing Technician I employees as needed(non-supervisory)
· Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and R&D teams
· Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready manufacturing environment
· Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs
Qualifications
Education & Experience
· Associate degree in Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Manufacturing Technology, or related scientific/technical field preferred
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Minimum of 2–4 years of manufacturing or production experience within biotechnology, medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, or related regulated industry preferred
· Experience working in GMP, ISO, FDA-regulated, or quality-controlled environments strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
· Understanding of manufacturing operations, production workflows, and documentation
· Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate documentation
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to identify and escalate operational issues appropriately
· Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability preferred
· Comfortable working with laboratory and manufacturing equipment
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
· Ability to work independently with limited supervision
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer systems
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds regularly
· Ability to work in laboratory and manufacturing environments
· Ability to wear required PPE including gloves, lab coats, hair coverings, and safety equipment as required
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing and laboratory environment within a regulated life sciences facility. Adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards is required at all times.
